1. Purpose and Scope
This Privacy Policy is issued in accordance with Section 5 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and Rule 4 of the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 (SPDI Rules). This portal collects personal data exclusively for evaluating volunteer applications, assigning shift rosters, verifying on-ground identities, issuing authorized venue entry badges, and enabling emergency coordination during Navshakti Navratri 2026.
2. Categories of Personal Data Collected
- Identity & Contact Data: Full legal name, verified mobile phone number, email address, local Ahmedabad residential address.
- Verification Media: Live selfie photograph (for digital accreditation and badge printing) and copy of valid Government ID (Aadhaar / Voter ID / Driving License / College ID).
- Emergency Contact: Contact person name, mobile number, and relationship.
- Operational Preferences: Department priorities, availability time slots, and logistical preferences.
3. Aadhaar Redaction & Masking Notice
In compliance with UIDAI regulations and privacy mandates, Navshakti does not require or process unmasked Aadhaar numbers. Applicants uploading an Aadhaar card are advised to redact/mask the first 8 digits so only the last 4 digits are visible. Stored identity documents are used strictly for visual verification by designated coordinators.
4. Security Safeguards & Non-Disclosure
All personal data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 encryption and stored in restricted-access databases with role-based authentication. Navshakti will never sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with any commercial third party, advertiser, or sponsor.
5. Storage Limitation & Scheduled Purge
Under the data minimization principles of Section 8 of the DPDP Act, personal data will not be retained longer than necessary. All volunteer application records, uploaded selfie photos, and ID documents will be automatically and irreversibly purged from our active systems within thirty (30) days following the conclusion of Navshakti 2026.
6. Rights of the Data Principal (You)
As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the following enforceable rights:
- Right to Access: View your application and volunteer roster profile.
- Right to Correction & Erasure: Request correction of inaccurate details or prompt deletion of your application.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw your volunteer consent at any time without adverse penalty.
- Right of Grievance Redressal: Direct complaints to our Grievance Officer or escalate to the Data Protection Board of India (DPBI).
